What Do You Do When You’ve Started One Novel, Yet Just Bought A New One Which You Can’t Wait To Read?

Do you remain faithful to the original novel, or would it be fair to read the new, exciting one first, and then go back to the original?
The reason why I ask this is because I started reading “Ender’s Game” two days ago, but I just bought “The Man of My Dreams” by Curtis Sittenfeld today, and am really wanting to read this book…
what should I do?
(((Dilemma!!!)))

I finish it first. I can’t leave myself hanging and start a new one in the middle.I know how you’re feeling though. When I first bought The Perks Of Being a Wallflower, it killed me to wait :)

I had the same problem, last week. I had ordered a book from Amazon that I really wanted to read (Phoenix Endangered by Mercedes Lackey & James Mallory) but I chose the super-saver free shipping, which is really slow. So, while I was waiting for the book to arrive, I ended up finding a few books at the used-books store. I had just started to read one book (Owlflight by Mercedes Lackey) when my order arrived. I had only just started the book & it was a little slow, so I set Owlflight aside & read the other book first. When I was finished, I went back to Owlflight.

I’m a “book slut” from way back. There’s no reason you can’t read a couple, or even several, at the same time. If anything, the mental gymnastics necessary to pull this off come in handy in useful situations. Anybody that’s ever had to do a major holiday with their in-laws knows what I am talking about.

I hate to not finish a book so if it was me I would stick to the first one and have something to look forward too.
On the other hand, who said you could only read one at a time? I’ve read up to five books on completely different subjects at the same time by just reading some chapters out of one book and then some more out of the other.
But if that’s too confusing I’d say finish the first.
Hope that helped and enjoy your books.

why not read both at the same time?
it’s not hard. i do it all the time.
if you don’t want to do that then i suggest you finish the book you started ’cause then you might never finish it.

Be faithful, put away the new one until you finish reading the first one.
