What Can I Use To Put Temporary Footprints On A School Floor?

The elementary school book fair theme this fall is “Safari”…so we’d like to put elephant foot prints on the hall floors leading the kids to the room where the book fair is set up. It would be nice if the prints could last at least 2 weeks or more….but are also easily removed (or the custodians will kill me!)

I have temporary footprints all over my house… I just forget to take my shoes off after I went through mud.
They can last up to two weeks or more it really just depends on when I break out the vaccuum cleaner.
In your case its a little difficult because your going to need to get an elephant and then make him run through mud before you let him into the building but it could be fun for the kids if you do it during the day on your lunch break.
I mean think about how fun it would be if you were a kid and you saw an elephant walk by the classroom and then after class you run out to the hall to see whats going on. Plus if you get it done fast you could be like “Theres no elephant here….” and they might hook you up on a price.. maybe like an hourly rate. I’m not sure where to rent an Elephant but I would start calling the same place you rent tents, chairs and moonwalks from because those people rent EVERYTHING.
oh yeah if your still reading this. Go to autozone and pick up some of that window paint you write on cars with.
Sometimes it can be hard to clean up but it will last a long time. I would try a baby elephant footprint first in a corner that nobody cares about and leave it for a few days then try cleaning it up to make sure it comes up and doesnt stain the tile.

  • Mac Tack! i don’t know if thats what it’s actually called.. but like.. the stuff you put in the bottom of drawers and cupboards when they are dirty or look grungy. You can get it in all kinds of colors, I know around here you can get like a 2 by 5 foot piece for a dollar at the dollar store.. Its like, vinyl. I don’t know if it will last 2 weeks, depends on the quality you get…. In the high traffic areas it might start to come up around the edges (like hallways that are constantly walked through) but it should generally stay down.
What if you put them up the walls and around the ceilings instead? That way you can use whatever you want and not worry about it comming off.. lIke make it zigzag up one wall and across the ceiling and down the other wall… with a few different sets :)

Not sure what your budget is but you could get some artwork and take it to a local sign shop and have them cut it out of low or medium tac vinyl. The vinyl will be more than durable enough and shouldn’t be a complete nightmare to remove, especially if you get a lower adhesive level.

Have the students cut them out of heavy duty construction paper and tape them to the floor.
